"normally" it works perfect, and if not, pull the pin....
"normally" any other release works as well, ask people about the 2002 Takoon release....

Must look at trying it as it moves us in a new direction. But I have tried the safety through the hole idea and it nearly killed me when it did lock up, not at the knot but in a straight length of leader because the bar rotated parallel with the line.
