It seems to me that one of the more overlooked areas of our sport in the quest to jump higher is the advancement of kite lines. Not to say that Q-Lines don't work well, but I think in the future we may well see a huge difference in jumping performance with the right lines. Since the height of jumps are in part the direct result of how well you can load the lines, it seems only natural that you would want to have kite lines of different load capacities. For example some kite lines would require 100lbs of force to reach their optimal loaded length, while others would take 300lbs to achieve the same length. The right amount of line load capacity, matched with the rider's weight and riding style could produce some interesting results.

I saw an interesting thing on nanotechnology on CNN. The guys are close to getting it right and it would allow for materials to flex and be stiff depending on a electrical current.
Could work out well...imagine the response on solid lines which you can change to normal string like flex when you want to roll them up. Would cost a fortune though...

stiffer lines eh?
why not replace the 4 lines with a short lightweight carbon rod/mast
or has that been done before?
