Hi:
I’m thinking on making a very small woody.
I’ve read in an interview to Martin Vari that he’s kiting with one boards of 100-90 cm X 30-40cm. I understand that Lou Waiman was doing that boards. I saw too that in tarifa shapers are doing them with plywood.
I’m looking for information about it. Which size is better? Fins or no Fins? Scoop/lift or no scoop? Sharp edges? Could I do it only with a 1cm ply?

all you need is one strip water resistant 12 or 9 plywood and 2 component epoxy glue, clear coat, inserts and fins
make a 4'/120cm first you can always cut it down to 36"/90cm
average width is 13"/33cm
use the natural bend in the plywood for the rocker

just come back from tarifa.
tad, funworks, ricks shapes and ccat are all using very similar shapes this year, though tad is using high tech edging materials and really pushing the limits of the board shapes.
from talking to a number of shapers whilst out there last week the general consensus was that tad is shaping the good shapes and everyone else is simply copying his rockers.
but there was some excellent looking 120 x 40cm boards at tads with fantastic square rails and virtually no rocker until the last 20cm

Hi Toni, Jimmy lewis made a few boards in the 90 x 33 region for Lou waiman, he was`nt using fins with them but they did have a Dominatrix bottom {concave} I guess for just a little grip.Idoubt fins would have such a important role on a board of this size coz lets face it you`re gonna be hanging on when its time to get one of these puppies on your feet!! Let us know how you get on.

anyway, yes
the
Toilet Lid is either concave or it goes with/without fins. anything goes!
just drill holes bigger than the screws (be sure to drill on a wooden pad or you will see why I say it), fill em up with epoxy glue and later drill the final diameter holes.
