Has anyone flown both of these kites, Rhino2 and 2003 Caution kites, which one do you rate as the better kite? For hangtime, bar pull and speed wise.

rhino2 won the hangtime comp at the redbull king of the air,its generally recognised as one of the best kites in 03.
caution arent as well established yet,but dave ezzy is involved and he makes shit hot wave sails,so either kite would be a pretty safe bet,my choice would be the rhino2.

Go with the Caution. Hang time comps are about the riders. The Caution / Liquid Force kites are awesome this year. They fly just as good or better than any other kite out there, and they are built super tough by Dave Ezzy. And they are way better priced than other kites.

I have been flying Cautions for 3 seasons so far. I can tell you that the 2003 line is unquestionably brilliant!
I rode the AERO II's for around 6 weeks and I can honestly tell you that the Caution is a WAAAAAYYYYYY nicer kite to fly. Tons of lift, but nice smooooth feel. Super quick turning but with nice bar feedback.
In fairness, I haven't ridden a R2 as yet, but I can tell you that you will not have any regrets with a 2003 CAUTION.

What is the connection between Caution and Dave Ezzy? I have heard this before, but all we hear about lately is the brothers from California that design them. What does Dave do for Caution, if they are designed in California?

Dwight
I understand that Dave Ezzy has helped the Schwibel (spelling?) brothers who design the Caution kites with materials procurement and contracting of the manufacturing.
Someone posting above seems to think that Liquid Force kites are somehow linked to Caution kites.. but this is news to me.

Peter and Poul Schiebel of Caution! Santa Cruz also design the Liquid Force Kites. Check out
http://www.liquidforcekites.com/kites_tension.htm. Both the Cautions and the Liquids are built in the Ezzy Sails Factory.

The Schiebel Brothers' are and have been contracted by Liquid Force to design their 4 line kites. The Schiebels' and the Liquid Force design team turned out the APEXX in 2002 and now the TENSION in 2003. This information has been in several magazine article and is on the Liquid Force website,
http://www.liquidforcekites.com. Both Caution Kites and the Liquid Force 2002 and 2003 kites are built at the Ezzy factory in Sri Lanka. This factory is well known for its quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Did they fix the really bad flutter in the trailling edge that was apparent on so many of the 2002s?

I have the Apexx 7.0-15.0 kites and do not have flutter on any of mine.
