Q: Takoon Wook 16.5m2: how much bottom end power and how eas

I'm about to buy a big kite and thinking of Wook 16.5m2 but since I really want to have a kite I can go with in a light winds I'm wondering if this is the right kite?

Any comments?

Unfortunally, i think wook 16.5 is not THE lightwind kite, at least not like rhino2 20m, f-one 18.1m or slingshot 19m

I´m 76kg and own a 16m Toro1. As suggested above this size is FAR from what 18-20m kites may provide NOW.
If you´re on a 12 now, then I´d suggest to go for a Toro2 18 or Aero2 if you want to stick with intermediates.

How can you answer without trying the kite? The wook 16.5 is an easy kite. Light, reinforced, a good kite. You can't compare a rhino II with a wook, compare a skoopII to have a really performant kite. I tried the 16.5m wook and it's a good kite, manoeuver, light, it's a good kite without any problem. You ride cool and fast. I like it. For me the wook is an easy skoopII.

I go for ~16m2 kite and I'm pretty much deciding between Rhino2 16m2 and Wook 16.5m2.
I prefer easy handling and bottom end power. So do you think that Wook has these qualities?
I'm not looking for Skoop2 since I might be way out of its league.

seemingly you´re a lucky guy with lots of wind or a light weighter as 16m is NOT really big - and that´s what you originally was asking for. It´s just the biggest Takoon - unfortunately .. I like them too ..

Yes I think so, but If you want a more lighter kite in bar, look at the skoopII 17m too. This kite is better than wook for hang time but the wook generate more power in turn perfect for surfing.
The skoopII 17m is faster and lighter in bar than last year (bigger tips and thinner profil). What I like in wook is that you don't have to move the kite to have power, this is a good quality for a kite for light wind. With my weight (75kg with a 135cm board) the low end with wook is approximatively 8knots. I jump good with 10knots

Get the 16 or the 16.5 whatever intermediate and buy a bigger board from 2002 or 2001 cheaply.
This will make you get up planing as fast as with a 18-20m2.
