Flysurfer's new Depower System vs. RSI Sheet Cleat

RSI has had their Sheet Cleat System out for some time. It allows a rider to be in trim loop and "lock in" at any point on the range of the bar without pulling a strap. Great for tricks and comfortable cruising. However, I've heard mixed reviews on how well the Sheet Cleat actually performs.

Now Flysurfer has just come out with what appears to be the next generation of this type of device. They call it their "Pressure Free Depower System". The Flysurfer design features a pulley instead of a cleat and may be an improvement in this type of device.

Please reply if you have experience or info on these or other similar products.

Note: For some reason, it seems Flysurfer has today removed their new "Pressure Free Depower System" from their USA Website. Perhaps it is back online by now or still showing on their Euro-site.

Thanks for any insight on this subject. I would like to combine the best of these devices with the best shackle/quick release system and use them in my regular set-up.

I never tried this Sheet Cleat, but I would like to know how it works as well.

I tried the old version of the pressureless depower from Flysurfer and it worked great. I know that they had som problems with it, when sand came into the roll. Therefore they improved it. But I didn't try it yet.
But it is a great idea and good for easy riding and jumping.

flysurfer kites already had the depower system in summer 2001 - it's a great system.
saves you lots of energy for more hours of ripping

it's not like the sheet-cleat-system - there's actually no pressure on the bar -
you can fly one handed and power up or depower - great stuff *g*

I asked Flysurfer about the pressureless bar some time ago.
Armin said it can be used only for the Flysurfer kites, since the forces have been balanced for it. If you hook up a tube it has different forces and therefore it doesn't work. Interesting would be, if the bar of a Warrior 9.3 can be used with the MastAir 16.0 ?
