Hi

I have both the 16.6 and the 11.6 these are very good kites. The build quality is a good as any and the bar, depower and lines are good. I think that the 16.6 has nine struts making it a very stable kite, they are moderate aspect ratio and have a small foil area to the wing tip that makes relaunching almost automatic.

If you need any more info email bob@mkt2.co.uk

Toby the Strong Kite with the small ram air section is the 2003. I've heard that Gun are testing the 2004 kites now, these may have vortex strutts like the X2 and the ram air section will not be included. Other than that I'm unsure. The best person to contact is Brian at Gun UK, sorry i'm unsure of the website address, but I can get the phone number if require.

Don't take too much notice of the picture of the kite, it's simply not like that. I'll mail you a picture of mine the next time I get it out if you want.

I have seen the "2004 new" gun kites. X2 clone any one? Right down to the right angle LE tips and kevlar cloth, but only cheaper. No span wise panels so expect some canopy strech and flapping down the track.

The whole reason behind the foils in the tips was to get around the patent thing. Thats all no other reason.

Of coarse I havent flown these kites and they may be great but from the look of it its just a clone. Nothing wrong with that as a price point kite.
