I mainly kiteloop on a downwinder. I'll loop the kite three times on each reach. I also kiteloop to generate more power on a marginal day. You can also loop the kite under in a power jibe or TT carve switch. You also need looping skills for riding waves. Looping the kite in a jump is fun but punishing. You get double lift on one jump. I have not made one yet...I only have so many body parts.

I think that the Takoon Demoday vid hgas some kiteloops in. The kite certainly is lower than the rider and he wipes out real bad once.
Check out the bit where he is getting amazing air off those little waves.
