thats not too difficult to tear a kite like this:
just fly it at the top of the wind range.
jump - and loose control over the kite
then crash it from the sky directly towards the water.
then the effect is more hard, if you hold the bar tight and pull it towards your body just that moment the kite crushes on the surface of the water.
If it had happended on another way, just tell us !
Then - I d rather believe - North will not only repair it but sent you a new one !
greets
niko

I am curious how North handles this warranty claim....
At the moment I have substantial problems with North UK. To be fair I have to wait for their final decision before I tell the forum the details. I would be surprised if you would touch a North product again after you waited for more than 3 month (!) to get a brand new kite replaced which was either supplied with a big hole in it or bust during its first 5 min on the beach……

Why should North warranty this kite. It was pilot error. You crashed your kite in the waves. North can not control that. People need to start taking responsibility for their mistakes. Kites are fragile honor up to whos fault it is!!!

What happened:
I went out with my 16 (only used for 4 times)...about 600 from shore my naish safety loop broke open....and away was my kite,..me swimming..my kite drifted back to the shore and came in the break, just really small waves....and that's what happened....it got thorn..
North says it isn't garantee.....so be it...
