After the successful launch of the Helium Light Wind Kite in 2015, Switch Kiteboarding are pleased to announce the pending arrival of the next generation - Helium2.
The new Helium2 is a refinement of the original Helium. Most notably, we've added a new 15.5sqm size offering a greater range of options for light-air riders.
We've slightly modified the leading edge tube to re-align the wingtip and provide a more robust structure for quicker response and improved stability.

We've also added a rear steering line which engages the trailing edge at the wingtip strut upon maximum bar movement. The steering line improves turning and powers the kite up substantially without compromising the Helium's excellent stability and light bar pressure. In particular, reverse and standard re-launch are enhanced.
2016 Lightwind Kite
Due to launch in approximately 2 weeks, the Helium2 will provide you with dependable light-air riding with surprising agility.
Sizes: 15.5sqm & 18sqm
The 15.5sqm will definitely suit the smaller/lighter rider.
Why a strutless? because 3.9kg for an 11sqm projected area is really shit.
There are foil kites with similar projected area that weigh close to 2kg and ones with more PA but the same canopy size that weigh 2.8kg. Of course they are foils, but the cloud2 17m is only 2.7kg which is lighter than the foils!
Hello Foilholio: So, profile, AR, VMG, re-launch, bar pressure, wind range, ease of use - all meaningless in the face of absolute weight/sqm. Good to know. Makes light air kite decisions easy. Don't even have to fly the kite. Just weigh it, measure it, do some calculating... Cheers!

Ouch. Took that a little personally did we? It might have been softer just to say "then buy Greg's kite" or "not enough market to recover the cost of development for such a niche", etc.
I get the feeling Mr. H (and possibly felix also) still have not taken my advice to fly some clouds a few sessions, say a dozen.... It would be an eye opener. A couple of sessions is not enough. Not to take anything away from the fine work they are doing with the conventional LEIs, bridles etc.
