Navigation
on each home site there will be a navigation for easy and fast browsing through the sites.
This navigation can be shut of by clicking the red cross or you can minimize it, then a small navigation will appear at the bottom of each site.
Click the same sign again and it will be maximized to the left corner again.
The Groups will be a forum for each country, here you can discuss national topics and stay in touch with your local riders.
Find the Chat and see in the Chat Dates forum when chats will be happening or make a date with someone else to chat about a special topic.
Also special chats with interesting people of the kite world will be announced here.
Sell and find used kites, boards, etc in the Used Gear forum.
The Gallery is already know by many of you. It is a great tool to load up pictures to the internet and to post it on the forum to show all other users. But you need to apply for an album, see instructions in the Infos forum.
Under Schools you can find many international kiteschools. This site will also be updated and be of easier use within the next weeks.
All important postings, frequently ask questions and information can be found at the Infos forum.
Reviews is a forum which will contain user reviews of all kinds of boards, kites and accessories.
A forum for Events will show you which events are coming to us, no matter what type, if pro comp or local festival, from all around the world.

KF Homepage
the new kiteforum.com homepage has some new features.
the 3 main forums will be available:
Kitesurfing, Snowkiting and Landkiting.
See all important tools for the the forum.
New are the 4 pictures, which will be changed from time to time.
These different types will be displayed each time:
1. a user of the forum
2. new gear
3. a kitebeach
4. and an action shot
To enlarge the pictures simply click on it.
New is also the banners.
Since this all costs a lot of money and takes a lot of time I have to do advertising. I will try to keep it as low as possible, but I guess it is ok for you, since this way the forum and all other services can be offered without any charge for you.
these banner will be rotating banners, due to the strong interests in advertising on this site.

2 different colors are available
The default color is this, light blue and the optional is black with white letters, like the former forum used to be.
If you prefer the black forum, you have to be registered, then you can change it by going to your profile and "board style".
choose kitefoum black.
now each time you login to the kiteforum, you will have the black style.
this forum offers different languages !!!
all navigation tools and infos from the software are availabe in different languages.
The default language is English.
You can choose the language by going into your profile, if you are registered, and at "Board Languages" choose your prime language.
But the content of the forums and what you write, will not be translated!
So make sure you will post in English for everybody to understand.
the usage of the forum got a lot easier with this update.
Avatar
You can even load up a picture of yourself, to show others who there are discussing with. This way the forums becomes more personal.
Only a .gif or.jpg file can be uploaded as "avatar".
The sizes has to be 110x80 pixel (110 height - 80 width) or smaller.
bigger can't be uploaded and another file type neither!
BBCodes
you can easily use BBcodes, like [img..... with this software.
When you write a message, you will see above different BBCodes
e.g. if you want to write something in Bold, press the "B" button, then the text which you want to be in bold and then prees the "B" button again.
Make sure that you don't have a space between the ] and [.
To make sure if the message will show up as wanted, click always "Preview" to see, what will be posted and then "Submit".
Same with pictures, now you simply click the "img" button, paste the URL of the image and press the "Img" button again.
Different fonts colors and sizes can be used as well.
TIP: mark a text and then press one of the buttons and it will automatically do the [.. actions with the opening and closing tag!!!
Poll
you can start polls about anything you like, makes sure it is related to kiting. Simply enter a question and put in different options for anwers.
make a yes, no, and mabye by always adding these option.
Set a time period how long this poll will be valid.
Don't forget: only users can participate in polls, who are replying to the topic. And I'm not not sure know, if only registered can participate, but I guess it is limited to them.

select a smiley on the left side to be attached to your message by clicking on it.

Groups
the groups will be forums for different countries.
each country will have a moderator of that country to avoid losing control of these forums, since I only speak English and German.
So far we have a moderator for Germany (myself), for Portugal (Tiago) and for the Netherlands (Andy)
If you are interested to moderate a group for your country, pls send an e-mail to info@kiteforum.com and let me know. I will decide if you will be moderating it or not.
I will prefer people who are frequent, registered posters in this forum, since then I already know more about them.
The advantage of extra national groups are, that country specific problems and happenings can be posted, without getting lost in the main forum. You can also post in your native language, which wouldn't be good for the main forum.

how to copy a link
the link address will always be kiteforum.com.
therefore you can't copy the link in the address field of the browser.
If you want to copy a link of a special posting, you need to go to the list of the posting headlines and do a right click on it. the right click menu will appear, then choose "copy link". then you can insert it into any other text by choosing "paste".
how to refreash the forum postings without having to go to the homepage all the time
when you are in a forum at the posting headlines, do a right click and choose from that menu "refreash" and you will see all new posting headers.
