now Pro Limit shows most kite manufacturers how to deal with safety issues!
If this release will be tested as working we all should get it!

Right you are Toby! I just heard about an incident involving a pro rider who was out in some pretty strong winds, 37 to 42 mph. He had just popped a jump, mishandled his small kite (small kite=small control bar=very easily moved incorrectly). He ended up level with his kite which was downwind while he was about 30 ft. off the water. He proceeded to get hauled at high speed towards shore, furiously trying to release his snapshackle. It was too loaded up or out of alignment at any rate it wouldn't release. He finally managed to pop it free about ten feet from the beach. He also almost slammed his kite at high speed into a lady on the beach, not good.

I am going to order one of these Pro Limit center loops to go along with my snapshackle.

Toby, thanks for the heads up on new safety gear. Does anybody have a link to Pro Limits website and/or an online store that carries this new quick release bar?

Also, I'm a little fuzzy on the design. Obviously, one pulls the red ball to totally release the bar and kite. However, what is the extra strap that bisects the trim loop in the photo?

One other question: What kite leash system would be best for this type set-up?

not updated, the bar isn't on it yet.

Thes stuff at the trim loop are:
left: to pull for depower
middle: to pull for more power
right: to attach the depower lines

I think at the end of the bar you have holes where you can put the line trough and attach it to a safety line. If you have to let go, the steering line goes trough that hole and opens up the kite 100%.
This system works like this:

Wow, the S2 Control Bar looks awesome! Anybody out there tried it yet?

Or maybe somebody knows of other bar/safety systems that solve some of the standard problems?

Thanks for the info!
