the 2003 tube kite built in ahalf ellipse structure ,the projected area is much smaller then the correct sizes of the kite ,so it wil be incorrect to calculate the a.r as the ratio between the truth length of the kite and the average width of the kite , my guess is that calculating the a.r from the projected shape (the shadow that the kite will make on the ground when the kite and the sun in the middle of the sky) will be much clouser to the the truth, this a.r will be much accurate analysing the aerodynamic behavior of the kite ,and will be much harder to glamorize high a.r kite by lengthening the tipes/

Think Wipika did this. don't think anyone has actually promoted a kite on the basis of its AR since the AR5. Don't even know the ARs of kites now.

Aspect ratio was hyped two years ago. But now most people realize that a single AR number does NOT define a kites shape. In fact two kites can have the same aspect ratio value and have quite different shapes.
Most of us now just call kites low, medium, or high aspect ratio and leave it at that.

its clearly that the a.r is just one of many aerodinamic characteristic of the kite ,most of the importent characteristic are hard to see or calculate ,so most of the companis are not dealing with in there paper sheet .
but the idea of the projected a.r just rise after watching a mach-2 and arino 2 next to each other . both kites, when they were lying on the send had a high a.r , my guess is that the much had little advantage ,but watching them flying the much had greater advantege .while the rino have a close allipse shape the mach is very open so the diffrence in the projected a.r is much bigger then norm' a.r.
clarification-im a north fan and still think its much better high a.r kite then the mach/
