it would seem to be working though

You guys make me laugh...
Like many have said, you can't win this discussion. It's like debating religion or any topic a person believes in. I got into flying foils for the pure versatility and ease. But then I developed the rebel side and did it just because no one else did. It's good to show up at a beach with your foil and rock out only because people think you can't. When everyone said Burton was the best snowboard, I bought a wicked Neversummer board and shredded. I always seek out the under dog gear. It's there because they spend more time making quality products then spending money on graphics and advertising and sponsoring riders. If I got some rapper to wear a peice of shit on a chain around his neck, all you followers would be clubbing with shit dangling against your shirt.
Make your own choices and ride what you like. There are alot of good kiters who don't go to Comps because they're not sponsored and have nothing to prove to anyone but themselves. Comp winners are there to sell products and prove themselves to people who don't care, not ride for fun.

Dudes don't worry about all that technical shit. Just enjoy the ride, what ever is pulling at the end of youre lines. It is my job to care about tech stuff during the day, when i'm on the water I just want to have fun. You should too.
If you want to get depressed there are bigger issues to worry about. Just have fun while you can.
btw. As a desillusion for all those tech freaks, aerodynamicly both aren't exactly sailplanes
... Don't get hyped.
(Actual misread the topic title as 'The future is bright, the future is oil
