Guys,

I would like to know what is your feedback related to the Cabrinha bar.
- Does it float?
- The chicken loop is not going through the bar: so supposedly, the wear out on the line is less. but the pull is off axxis. Is that good/bad?

How would you rate this bar compare to the Naish, or North?

Thanks for your feedback

-Marc

I didn't use the bar yet.
But what I know is, that you can forget about the North bar. They will bring out a new bar, but it is not out yet.
I saw the new Naish and it looks great, so does the Cabrinha. Personally I prefer the chicken loop to go through the bar.

I have been using the Cabrinha bar for awhile now. I like it allot. However, it does not float. My understanding is that they have now added line floats to take care of the oversight. Here is a link to a Cabrinha Forum where you can get any product questions answered definitely:

http://www.neilprydemaui.com/

As a basic bar, I like their design. I like the offset ends for one thing. Provides better safety for your hands and also secures the outside lines much better than the slip knot around the bar that some other brands use. I also like the center lines loop not going through the bar. I had problems with the Naish bar clogging with sand and causing problems that actually became dangerous. With Cabrinha's big eyed externally mounted fitting has worked perfectly for me. If they don't supply line floats, you can install Airush line floats very inexpensively. If you want a closer look at the Cabrinha bar, click here:

Although I like this bar allot, when I upgrade to my next bar, it will likely be the new S2 Lock-In Bar by Stage Two. This bar has everything including cruise control!

If you want to read ALLOT more about it, then click on this link to see the long discussion of this product on this forum recently.

Good luck in your control bar shopping.

Thanks for the feedback.

Toby, specifically for the North bar, what is the main concern?

I have checked out the S2 bar. This is a great idea. However the $200 price tag is hard to swallow.

What do you guys think about ProLimit Releasable Spreader Bar ?

Thanks

as far as i know, the new northbar is out, but hard to get ?!
well, the old one could lock itself accidentliy --i've seen the bar and someone explained it to me, but i wasn't listening - all i know is thaT it was really dangerous!

the naish bar (2001) doesn't float either but i must say that i didn't have any problems with that...

from the 2001 cabrinha bar i know that the safety system does not work 100%

the North bar just feels like crap.
it has aluminium at one site and isn't very comfortable. The depower doesn't look great, but it should work.
I heard from a bar to come out in April, which should be great according to the producer. Safety, materials, grip and quality all very good. It will have swimmers at both sites.
If I get more infos and pictures I will post.

This is the pro-release release item ( form the kitesurf forum in yahoo)
Image

This could be a nice alternative to the S2, but the reliability of the release system needs to be demosntrated...

unfortunately the pictures of Yahoo don't work.

What I like about the North bar is, that you can trim the steering lines with an adjuster like Naish has for its depower.
