Amazing!
5 gusting to 7 knots and my lightweigh (140lbs) friend is JUMPING on a R2 18 and a 42 width board. Kite parked after getting some speed.
Courseracing windsurf boards with 11mts sails were not even planning! No whitecups at all.

I second that.
I was testing a friend's Rhino2 16 and 18m on 6-9mph winds with an 185 AHD board. Comfortable upwind with occasional jumps when there was enough speed on the 18m, good upwind with the 16m.
Everyone was wondering how that could be possible.
Rider weight 175-180...
Impressive!
The upper wind range is left to be seen.

Humm 5 to 7 knots can't top that. My mate with a 18 R 2 and 42 cm board can go in 8 knots. He is 180 and can't jump in that wind. Can however go upwind.

Hi Vangelis:
What a luck to test both kites. Can you tell us if there is a great difference in low end between the 16 and 18.
I don't know if I understand your words correctly, but did you say the 16 was better upwind than the 18 inthe same wind?
Thanks for any info !

The 18m has better low end than the 16m Rhino2.
I couldn't tell any difference in upwind.
When I could only go upwind with the 16m I could go upwind and do small jumps with the 18m.
Next test will be with loaded kites to test their jumping ability and upper end limits.
Today it was too strong to try them.
Stay tuned.

I can vouch for the R2 power. I have the 20m - really sweet. Easily jumping in 7-9 knots. Other day it was 10 gusting to 13 and I was going upwind with a rope connected to my back and my girlfriend on another board being towed behind me.
Still in total control at 15 knots but feeling a little overpowered!
Oh weigh 75kgs

It's hard to beleave but is true. I 'm 180 and had a little trouble staying upwind the same day. In 10 knots I am fully powered on this kite. In 13-15 I am wanting a smaller one. So fun range 7-13kt.

when you're talking about 7-13knots, do you mean that the top end is 13 knots average or gust of 13knots is the mazimum?
Thx.

Average. This is an estimation.
It depends on skill, water conditions, board size, your weight and how stable the wind is.
If I measure 15 knots on average I will go for a smaller kite / less powerfull kite.
