Hi Guys!
Dont worry, I myself had a lot of confusion over this...and luckily I have the guru's in headquarters to teach me a lot about this sort of thing...
The reason the leader lines have loops and not knots is to try and prevent people from just buying the kite, rigging it up by themselves, and going out causing mayhem on their local beaches.
This simple, yet tricky system encourages people to seek professional instruction before flying. It is for the same reason that Wipika does not plan to include a "how to kite" users manual. We really believe everyone should have professional instruction.
What I recommended and I think they will hopefully implement is longer leader lines for safety...
ALOHA!

It is also because with knots the re-ride system metal ring can sometimes get caught when leashing out, the loop through system gives a smooth re-ride

This is how you do it on the 2003 Wipika bar !
Pull the center lines through "itself" - and with the back lines you might pull the leaders through instead - this is a bit easier and faster.
Then you'll get a really neat and smooth connection - loop around loop, and no disturbing knots.
You adjust the backline length down at the bar ends, so you don't need any knots on your leaders.
I'm using it right now too.

I think I still don't get it.....pull the how line = 28m through the loop?
Picture perhaps?
BTW The AMP11.9 and 8.7 impressed me very much.

Hi Lauren
This IMO is not a good reason for producing a new system that is not clear to understand. People will simply do it how they can. Which is more dangerous. There are no instructors where I live and many people buy kites mail order so cannot get explanation from the dealers.
I am hoping to try my 8.7 AMP tomorrow. I hadn't noticed that no knots exist.
This is why an instruction manual is necessary which they don't give you - just the Airblast and Free Air manual.

Yes, you are right Sake - pull the 28 meter through the loop !
It wont take long, and only has to be done one time only.
Very very easy.

Just out of curiosity..on the back lines...at the bar end...someone suggested that you can adjust the length there by making a knot. If you are satisfied with the link can you leave the way those lines are now? It just seems as if there is a little rubber with a super small knot. I would imagine that this can't pull through the bar ends right?
Should I make a knot to be sure? Or will it be okay?
Just curious...
