Start small. It's good to practice getting the board to release right to begin with. Keep the kite at 10 or 2 and just carve upwind and then up, out of the water to release your edge. The caeve will create tension on the lines and you should get pulled a little into the air are you release your edge. This will give you a little hop style jump. Practice these in both directions/tacks.
Next practice swinging the kite up above you as you release your edge. Slow movements kite movements to begin with. At some point you will get this all timed right and go much higher than you expected! You may spin and land facing the wrong way, on your head etc. Don't worry about this too much, just focus on keeping your kite in the air while you are crashing.
Once you have these little jumps dialed, you can go for bigger ones, by sending the kite back behind you and then up over your head, and back down forwards as you land.
exactly.
for the very very first try:
go fast, keep the kite high, and suddenly send it back to the opposite side of the window (10:30 - 2 ). that's it. you'll be ripped from the water, drop back like a stone, stall your kite and surface again with a big grin in your face.
after that, try to get the kite in front again while you're still in the air.
after that, try the 'popping' of the board.
when you devellop a feeling for the lift and the pop, try to get maximal tension on the lines before you jump to go bigger and bigger
and:
have fun!
and don't try this in onshore winds, shallow water or all the other dangerous situations, cuz you'll hit the water, stall the kite, bodydrag, swallow half of the sea and so on
