Eye got a good lead, here on the Forum recently, for what may be some great protective eyewear for kiteboarders. Please check them out at:

Has anyone been using these or another similar product? The only goggles I tried to use were uncomfortable when I put on my helmet because the frames smashed into my temples. These look like they wouldn't have that problem. On the other hand, the plastic cord cinch in back might grind into your head when you put on the helmet. Anyone used these with a helmet?

Also Like to hear any reports on good protective eyewear for riding while wearing a helmet. The UV damage to our eyes out there can cause very real eye problems much sooner than many people realize.

I've been using the Gath visor helmet for nearly a year. The visor is retractable. That gives you a range of visor positions, depending on your needs. Unfortunately, the helmet I bought only took a few months to develop problems. Granted, that was the few months I was learning to kiteboard, but the helmet never went through severe conditions at all. In any case, now the visor will only lower to a point just above my eyes. This actually works out pretty well because it shields my eyes from glare in a way similar to a baseball cap. It really does help allot. Plus, I have to admit, I didn't like using the full face visor too much to start with. Between the dark tinting and the salt water spots, I felt my vision was somewhat impared. IMO, riding with the Gath helmet visor fully lowered could be a dangerous thing. Especially in a beach location with mixed use water activities. It would be easy to not see a snorkeler or a fishing line or something. I suspect any dark tinted eyewear a rider uses in the salt water will have that problem to some extent. Anyone else have protective eyewear information to share with us?

Ok...Ok..this is the last I'll say about the goggles I took to Cabarete. They work. I'm sure there are other alternatives, but these worked for me. I would not have said they did if they had not.

The helmet is my whitewater kayak helmet I don't remember the brand...something like ProTec.

do you mean this one

Image

you only can insert images with an ending like .jpg or .gif
You tried to uinsrt a .html which is a site you only can link to.
Next time do a right click ON the picture and go to properties there you will find the address ending with the a.m. codes.
n do the copy and paste stuff within the codes for inserting images (see FAQ)

Is it you on the pic?

Cheers

Ah-so! You're right.

I made an html 'page' with a .jpg as its object on my site. I never remember that sort of stuff. ...fricking code!

Thanks Toby.

......I even looked at the helmet this morning to see the brand, but the print on the safety label that formerly said; "Not for head protection while standing or moving." has washed away.
