Hi,
What would be the wind range for a ARC 1510, a 160*42 plywood bidirectional with a 90 kg/200 Pounds rider. 7-15 knots is often found, but lighter rider and unknown board.
Thanks,
J

I'm your weight and use a 1510 with a 152 Mutant from around 12-20mph. It's kind of a slow turning kite, but I'm going to try the additional spar mods soon that reportedly help out with the turning speed and low-end.
I really like the kite, it's what I used about 80% of the time last season (after getting off of the old school F-one Shadow). Easy to set-up, fly and self land. Maybe not a Formula 1 performance kite (like the Guerillas are reporting) but a solid kite none the less.

I weigh 200 with a Lightwave 181. 12 mph is the low flatwater limit for me. Move the rear line attachment point to the middle of the kite and it turns way quicker (but with much more bar pressure). Don't know the top end as i jump on my 1120 at 17.

Thanks to you all. I was a bit in doubt about the upper end, since I would like to use it up to 17-18 knots or so, seems to me it's possible.

I don't think you'll have a prob at 17-18kts. But you will be nicely lit up!

I realize that question was aimed at "J", but can I ask a question of you, Lachlan?
I just got in today some 6mm x 120cm carbon tubes to do the spar mod on my 2002 Arc 1510. The question is: do you want to stretch the kite out taut (along the length of the spar) as you spinnaker tape the spars down, or have it more neutral/not much tension?
Thanks for all the info you've been posting re: ARCs

I'm looking to buy it second hand and it's claimed to have the modifications.

I'm 185lbs and rode the 1510 for a year. I rode it on a Jarvis 157 Slingshot board and had it from 10-17/18. Then I got the LFT, which got me holding wind at 7-8kts or higher. I then sold it to my buddy who's 205lbs. He rides a Peter Nordby custom design called the Ranger (was going to make it production, but tragically passed away). The Ranger is 149cm x 48cm and he can hold the 1510 at wind in as little as 9kts. The 1510 has a TST, though. You might want to consider that.
