Need some advice here. I have funding to get a new kite for my quiver. I am set on getting a Naish kite so don't bother pointing out other kites. I am more interested to hear if the X10 is worth getting or if I should just get the X3?? Any help appreciated.

I think you should go for a X3. You will have more fun because it is easier to ride. You wouldn't be able to take advantage of the X10, except you are a prorider.

I sail the X10 12.0 Nice kite, that is impressive... But its NOT a freestyle kite. Im on the X2 still, and i vill take them over X10.... X10 is for days that you wannar goo to the moon, not for everiday sailing.
Buy X3 for 300 days a year. If you have the cash, buy a X10 for the days you wanner goo higer-longer, in the air. But not for trasitions.

THERUSSIAN REPOSTING:
Here's the first impressions of the X10..
So far in the UK, two of the top Naish riders (Ian Grey & Jezza) have used the 12m X10 (so far there has been very little wind in the UK - Ian Grey is light and got going in 16knots and Jez lives in Cornwall & got out in gusty conditions).
Both have commented that the timing of the edge & pop to initiate the jump is very different to the X2, as it is a lot faster - for the first two hours of use they weren't getting it right as the kite was lifting them before they had set up the jump. But once they had it right, Jezz commented that it boosts approx twice the height of an X2 - and he seemed to stay up there for a lot longer - with the kite reacting to each gust, by going up again.
The turning speed of the 12m X10 "seems" to be the same as an 12m X2 - but the kite provides an increased board speed - hence more airtime, estimated by Ian Grey to be in the region of 30% faster. As a result, the kite is far more physical, requiring more edging and generally more control
Jez said he was pleasantly surprised how manageable the kite was in the gusts, expecting it to be a nightmare, whereas it just took a bit more to control than an X2

Go the X3 for sure.
You will enjoy your kitesurfing more and progress faster with a lower AR.
I actually wish the X3 had a lower aspect ration than the X2. I have been using the Rhino II for a while, but will shortly go back to Naish X3. I have enjoyed the lower AR of the Rhino. It's much more forgiving and I have progressed quickly on the Rhino.
But I do like Naish kites, they are well made and have heaps of depower. I am looking forward to getting X3's in a week or two.

Thanx for the info everyone. It sounds like the X10 is a specialized kite. What makes it mor different vs. the X3. Is the turning slower or is the handling different or is there more pull? I am curios why people would not use the X10 as a regular everyday kite.

I've not flown the X10 myself - but other has here in Denmark.
The verdict is, that it has some extreme performance features not seen on other kites.
BUT, it is so specialized, that it does not seem to be very useable as an allround kite.
Some things can not be done like normally.
Of course it could be just a matter of learning new ways to do things - but it seems that is has not the overall features/characteristics like other kites.
So go for the X3, definitely.
Then you could add the X10 as an extra kite later, if you want to explore and try something cool.

Hi,
First, the X10 only come in 12m now, not 12 & 18 as said before.
The X10 with it's very high AR must be flown overpowered, it has no low end what so ever, it does not like gusts.
It's a fantastic kite when the conditions are right though.
For the choice, X3 definately. Unless you need a real high jumping hangtime kite for those perfect days, steady 25 to 30 knots, no gusts.
And relaunching.... Hmmm... Not so good...
Thanx,
Sean

I´m the danish guy who tried the X10
All I can say is that it doesn´t work to anything else than boosting huge airs and (as a surprise) gets you going in light air!!!
In a couple of days, we´ll reveal a review on
http://www.kitesurferen.dk and the review will come in our english section a couple of days later.
My advise - Go for X3 because of the better all-round performance.
