Is there any rider using thinner back lines (ie 100kg vs 200kg for front lines), as the new kite generation is pulling hard on the front line and requires slack back lines? I can see a pro with the drag reduction, but is it a good idea or a "don't do that at any price" one?

I've done that often on my Airblasts, earlier.
Using 270kg on the fronts, and 180kg on the rears.
Only problem could be, that it seems like equally dimensioned lines are easier to straighten out (untangling), when rigging up.
But apart from that, I see no problems.
And it might not be a problem - just try it !
Another advantage is, that IF you break a line, it will most likely be a rear line - which is not catastrophal like the fronts...
I've once managed to sail ashore with a missing rear line.
Not because it broke, but I had a problem with a knot on the kite.
I could only turn the kite to one side, or go "almost" straight up (a flat curve towards the line side) - but by looping the kite fully around backwards, and going downwind while doing this, I got safe ashore without having to swim.
