monster waves

I was just watching Awake, and the is some killer footage of some guy kiting huge waves in what must be hawaii. I don't know his name, but he had a heavy Euro accent. This footage must be at least 5 yrs old, because they were saying how he was the first guy to do it, and he was on what looked to be very big windsurfing boards, or tow in boards. I got totally stoked when I saw this, he was making huge bottom turns on some of the biggest waves I have seen. The whole movie kicks ass, Lou wainman's section is insane.
