I was ordering some shipping supplies and found what may be the perfect 'kite knife'. It's only about $8USD...cannot cut up the kite like open knives...but will pop those strings loose in a heartbeat.

This one is meant to be used to cut the plastic stretch film they 'mummy' numerous boxes together with.

Any of you in the US can read the phone and part numbers. If you are outside the US, I'd be more than happy to send you one. I suspect the post would be about $3.

Good kiting.

Jim

.....let's hope I didn't bugger the image this time!

Hi Jim,

this knife looks great.
Is the blade made of stainless steel?

Always rins fresh water over it otherwise it will rust.

Cheers

I made a nice brine with tablesalt....let the knife swim for an hour...gave it some nice humid air = no rust. It may be stainless.

Another thought: it would probably only be good for string under tension. You cannot 'saw' with it as would be needed if you were wrapped up in your lines in the surf.

But: maybe by the time you find where you put it - the ambulance may have already arrived anyway....

pleasant dreams.
