Skoop 2 THE BEST !!!!

I had last year skoop but this year the kites are incredible , smood , more hang time , and big wind range .
i get 17 14.5 11.5 that my quiver.

I could'nt agree more !

The new 17m2 Skoop2 has improved a lot, and is really a "killer kite" now, against boring light wind days...

And it relaunches sooo fast, despite its high AR.
Almost like the good old RRD IV, that simply turned over and relaunched by itself, before you could count to three !

Have you tried your new Skoops - or are you just exited if they all really fly like the first one ?

As I've mentioned earlier - no fancy details in the struts and strut colours no, plain good efficient quality.

Peter... what is the top/bottom end for you on your 17m? I need a big kite to compliment my 12... would the gap be too big? Im around 70kg/small board.. range on 12m is around 14 - 25 knots..

i am a full time kitesurfer living in cabarete.this is my 5th takoon.the wook 12 self destructed after one crash & 2 weeks.this material was supposed to be 5 times stronger.I hope this year the material is 10 times stronger.

No problems - I have been out in 20 knots with the 17, and it starts at 10-12 knots.

I am 72 kg.

Should suit your 12 perfectly.

I thought the Skoop2 17m would have it's low end around 8 knots. Can anyone confirm?

Specially if I ride a 5'5 Mutant (165cm). It's important because we have a lot of light wind days (but gusty).

as Takoon doesn´t yet care for the really light winds, who would you (or do you) mix up Skoops2 at the low end with other brands ? Does a GXR 19.5 complement the character of a Skoop ? Any other advise ? I know you´ve been on a GXR 14 - how does relaunch compare to a higher AR Skoop2 ? Do you switch to Wooks in smaller sizes ?

Why did you think you could go from 7-8 knots ???

Be real - you can not go with ANY kite, even +20m2 low end kites, in 7-8 knots !!!

Of course, you can use a big and/or fast board, and plane in 7-8 knots.

But if you want to use your small normal board, you can not do this in 7-8 knots with ANY kite.

I don't think it has more low end than the AMP16.2m2 (11.9) no.

If you are really light, and uses a special light wind board - you can easily go in 7 knots yes.
But who cares

The real low end limit is IMO where you are powered okay on your normal allround (quite small) board, and weighing something like 75-80kg (quite normal average rider weights I think).

My guess would be that you need 11 knots to go - but wind is such a relative thing (where do you measure it, what height, is it averaged or what ?)

I've been on a Gaastra GXR 16.5 a lot - and it is an awesome light wind kite.

It is very like the Skoop2 17m2 in windrange, just a little softer feel.

So the GXR 19.5 should complement your Skoops very very good as your bottom end kite IMO.

I have no idea of how the GXR relaunches, sorry.

And no, I use Skoops for the smaller sizes too, as I prefer the hard and direct feeling.
But many changes to Wooks in the small sizes.
Personal preference !
