Hello.
I'm building a woody like stunk kites web.
Now i'm thinking in add glass to the bottom an also to the top and when i went to the shop to buy the glass the man say to me that Epoxi is stieffer than Polyester. Also, Polyester is cheaper.
And my question is. Is better epoxi becouse is stronger or could be the same, or could be better poliester to have better flex and a cheap board?
Thanx in advance.

he's correct:
epoxy is:
-stronger
-more expensive ($100/gal)
-more user-friendly (doesn't stink, longer cure times for vacuum bagging)
-poor UV resistance (you need to paint or varnish to protect it from the sun)
polyester is:
- ok strength
-cheap ($10/gal)
-really stinks
- usually very quick cure time ( meaning you better work fast)
-good uv resistance
You could just make the board a little thicker and varnish it.....?

basically, they are the same.
polyurethane is what many varnishes are made with.
Its just a transparent coating to protect the wood and epoxy from moisture and sunlight. And you still get to admire your woodwork.
when it starts to look like shit, just paint it.

Epoxy works better until it gets a good hit, when it can crack like a toffee apple. It depends upon the core (epoxy wood/lam surfboard always getting repaired)

oops,
generally polyester is good enough in the sun that a varnish coat is not needed.

Thanks for the replys and another questions.
When i put a sheet of glass in the bottom, the rest of the glas (thinking that the glass is rectangular and the board no) wich i don't use will be hanging, then i have to cut it. the firs question is when have to cut it, when it was wet or when it was dry?
Or i have to cut the glass as the board is to don't have anthing hanging?
The third question is how i have to do the rails?, i want to mean that if i made the board as a sandwinch how i have to do the midlle, to do it well and don't have the "cheese" hanging.
The last question is wich side have to be the first the top or the bottom?
sorry for my english and for doing many questions , and very grateful for your replys.

really I think is not worthy to glass or to epoxy a wood board, it is more than enough if you just only VARNISH it.
Why do you want to use epoxy or glass?
I varnish mine and the finish is perfect.
They are so easy to make...
