Test Warrior 12.5m

thanks to Evan Child!!!

Winds: 0-10 knots

Kite flys very well. Launch is very easy. Kite just stays on the ground
until your ready and you depower to launch.
This kite is somewhat different in handling compared to LEI kites.
To launch kite you depower. Once kite is above about 30 degrees you pull
the power on to keep the kite flying upwards. If power is pulled on too
quick kite will fly backwards(Usually only in light winds).
Kite will not overfly, however if kite is at 12 oclock and winds drops to 0
kite will fall(Kite tends more to fall downwind rather than over your head
and behind you like the LEI kites) but it tends to fall back down very
easily and slowly and usually another puff of wind will come and keep it up
there. Kite stays up in the sky easier when depowered during the lull
periods. Backwards launch works well. Safety system is 1,000,000 times
better than LEI kites. With bar let go kite just flys backwards to the
ground without pulling much at all. In my experience LEI kites spiral and
corkscrew as they are falling down in the wind windows due to the safety
only being attached to one side. Kite by now is so twisted up it is
basically impossible to relaunch. Warrior also only has 3 main flying
lines which means when lines do get twisted the kite can still be
controlled easily. Kite needs to powered up in order to turn kite
quickly. With lines twisted kite seems to fly a little different and be
unresponsive. To fix this fly it to the edge of the window on get out line
twists.

Kite appears very durable. Very large bar compared to LEI kites but this is
ok. Depower system takes a little getting used to but OK once figured out.

I got going on a Buggy and was flying. Depwer works well. If going too
fast just depower and fly the kite higher closer to the edge of the window.
10 knots is plenty of power on hard sand. At times I could even get over
the really soft sand but works much better on grass or hard sand.

Had a cool experience with the kite. I was flying in my backyard in the
southern highlands where we get extremely varying winds. I was flying the
at the edge of the window and could feel the wind dropping so I started
walking backwards to keep the kite in the air. Turned the kite over and
swept it through the powerzone to keep it in the air. When I got to the
other edge of the window the kite just kept on going so I just kept running
backwards and I managed to get the kite around a full 360 degree window.
The wind must have been changing direction at the time to do it. VERY
COOL.

Will try on water this week when I get a good day over 10 knots.

I would assume it means "no wind" period.
