Guerilla arc and autozenith??

Postby Guest » Tue May 06, 2003 8:10 am

How u have to tune lines and bar setup, that autozenith works correctly ? Is it ok, that only back lines are in tension ? I have totally no idea. When front lines are in tension, then kite has maximum power ?

cheers! Qilbert

Qilbert,

If you are serious about you level of knowledge then I would recommend
that you do not launch your kite into the wind anytime soon. You admit to
having no idea, and pretty much confirm that with your comment about
maximum power. There is a lot more to what determines the power of a
kite than the tension on either set of lines. For any given wind strength it
a complex equation of kite position in the wind window, velocity at which
the kite is moving through the window and the Angle of Attack (or trim -
which is controlled by line tension) that determines power.

You can find a lot of Arc specific information in the archives and files of
the Yahoo Arcusers group. ...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/arcusers/
and there are many helpful members there.

A week ago I posted a fairly long-winded explanation there about how to
set up lines on any Arc for the most effective trim...

From the tone of your post though I would strongly advise taking lessons
before you launch your G-Arc. if at all possible.

Auto Zenith is a feature of ARC kites only, and is dependent on your lines being equal length from one side to the other.
It really sounds like you need lessons though, preferably by someone who is familiar with ARC kites. Most people who only have experience on inflatable kites will be next to useless in helping you to get the most from the G-Arc.
