Funny! What caused it? I didn't see anything that went wrong... suddenly you came out of the foot straps, left the board on the water, went up and let go of the bar.... like you were trying to do a dead man without the board...

somehow he left the board on the surface-looks so funny how he flies around without any hands on the bar or board on his feet :thumb:

he was lit and snagged the nose on the takeoff, thus initiating the board-off-frontspin-deadman

Actually, his letting go of the bar was a very good thing to do if he had any doubts about controlling the kite while spinning, yes? Letting go of the bar was a good, safe thing to do in that case.

Wow, that's a classic and on video. It is what I have come to call a Kiter Loop. I sometimes throw them with minimal warning in the waves often with a high speed and sometimes painful impact. The kite moves a bit but as you can see the kiter flies along a long elliptical path at high speed. Burying the nose of the board while steering the kite off to the side initiated this one. Not always sure in my case, always interesting though. Glad you weren't hurt in that shallow water!
