Nobile 555 - what size would you recommend?

Postby declan1978 » Mon Nov 05, 2007 7:32 pm

Hi there
I am thinking of getting a 2007 Nobile 555 board.
I weigh 60-65kg.
I was wondering what size should I get which is good as a beginner board but that won't be too big once I am intermediate level.
(I liked the size of the 132 x 41 in the 666)
Thanks very much!

135x40 555 for a beginner to intermediate at your weight (Your 1st board)
The 666 is sweet but needs to be riden hard to get the most of it.
The 555 despite being the younger brother of the 666 has far superior build quality and materials than most if not all other mainstream brands premier boards.
A bigger board will be easier to improve on and these puppies have the flex where it matters so you won't loose it when it blows hard. Easy upwind when light and lots of cushiion for landing your jumps.

I think 135x40 is almost too big for your weight. Although it is true that the
flex is very good so it does not feel that big.

something around 130x40 is perfect for you.

I ride 124x38 with 73 kgs and it is perfect for me for medium-strong wind,
for light wind 135x40 would be better.

I ride the 130. 67kg. I am a beginner and have it used now in winds ranging from 10 - 20 knots. I love the board!!!! Makes going upwind a breeze.

Gave the board to an experienced rider, he loved it too.

If I were you, go with the 130, super allround board!

I agree with the posts re: 130. I ride the 125 and love it, but I am a bit more experienced than you (but about the same weight). I think the 130 will be perfect for now. In reality, you'll probably want to size down (like I did) in a year or so.

Enjoy!

I agree, Im 80 (+) kg and ride the 130 x 39, I tried the 135 and it feels a lot bigger, especially when it starts getting hectic.

It depends on which year of Nobile 555. I have used the 128x39,5 from 2006 for 6 months and it was perfect for me with my 80kg.!!!!! :-)
