G'Day All,
Saw on the Today show this morning an interview with Mark Shinn. He's in Oz for a bit promoting kiting. Does anyone know where he is, where he is going ect ect? They had a bit of footage of him doing some ridiculous board offs! Althoug he only landed about two of the ten they showed. After Oz he's of to NZ.

Its a pity he wont be in Melbourne at all. We probably have the biggest kitesurf community in Oz here, and great conditions at the moment.
This Sunday we have the St Kilda festival which is always a blast. There are thousands and thousands of people, bands like Killing Hiedi, motocross and BMX displays, beach volley ball half pipe etc. Last year the Redbull half pipe was only about 5 meters from St Kilda Pier. There was a heap of us kitesurfing there and the crowd was torn between watching us and the skateboarders and BMX.
You could jump and check out the skateboarders only meters away while in the air.
This is seriously one of the most fun places to kitesurf in Oz (ive been to many of them) as the water is like glass and you can literally blast along the lee side of the pier and then boost way high over it. Even tonight there would have been a dozen tourists there with cameras getting the action.
Imagine a demo my Mark at this spot? The pier will be packed with people who could all (safely) be only meters from the action with the music blaring in the background.
True to form, there is a 20knot southerly forecast for Sunday and a fine day with 25 degrees.
What a pity Mark wont be there!

Mark was up on the central coast on thursday afternoon,at Erina, sail&ski were he answered questions and met the local crew. Then it was up to north entrance beach were the wind only got to about 8-12 knts, but he had no hesitation in putting up his 20mtr X2 and riding with the crew,NBN news were there to capture the action on film. The riding from the Naish boys,Chris R. John Messenger, and most of all Mark Shinn, has the local boys now trying to lift there game to a new level. At all times Mark was happy to answer any questions and went out of his way to promote bot Naish kites and his sport of kitesurfing..
Thanks again Mark!!
the Cental Coast Crew
Thanks also to Erina Sail/ Ski for organising his visit.

Shinn was in New Zealand just the other day, at Muriwai west of Auckland but the wind died down before he got there apparantly. It was 20 knots not long before..... don't know if he got any kiting in however. Jeepers hope his next trip to NZ is a bit more successful than his last 2 (this one and the Airlords)....
