I was on my short board yesterday and was stoked on how well the 1/8 inch rails dug in and went to windward ,These rails are covered in a 20 oz tri-ax and 6 oz cloth (twice) ,very hard to wrap, but the board is very tough,bends a lot and doesn't break

I just have build a real thin board, made with a 2,5mm plywood core und 10mm concave in 138 x 38. After covering with 3 X 65 g/m2 carbon-Kevlar on deck and bottum and some Carbone in the middle it was really soft . After Stiffing it with 8 cm thin strip in 10 layer Carbon UD and cloth on the heelside and some extra layers in the middle it is really fine. Good grap and nice Pop. Weight is normal.

So if I understand right, you have more concave in the tips then you have in the middle. What's the benefit of this?

8mm is the thinest we have gone with 2mm tips
