Rejuvenate Ur Old Board- Chop it down, heat bend it concave!

Postby chemosavi » Sat May 29, 2004 10:37 pm

I wanted a lightwind board with concavity so I took my 181 litewave and shortened it from 181 to 143 cm and filled the ends with epoxy
and fiberglass, then clamped the board on a stiff metal table with a piece of plywood under the center to get concavity and
stuck everything in a big cardboard box. I then put my propane weed
burner in the box and heated it up to about 200 degrees for an hour
or so. Took everything out and voila, a new board with 1/2" concavity
and much flatter.....Don't throw out that old board - modify it!
Pictures of the process....

very cool, Could you give details on what exactly you used to heat your oven, and for that matter the oven itself. I tried using an electric blanket to take some excess rocker out of a board I made and I fucked up the board big time.

I'd like to make an oven to cure resin faster and harden paint
thanks
