Do u mean heel reinforcements or for the whole board?
North kiteboards have x-shape carbon kevlar strips on the bottom
u can see it on http://www.northkites.com than click downloads
and under boards click on dragon features(its their strongest board)
u can see its layup and the x carbon kevlar stringer on the bottom.

Very cool looking board by the way :thumb:

The reinforcements I put are just a bit bigger then the pads. I use pure kevlar for this reinforcment and finished is with 160 gr glass reinforcement.

My layup: (overbuilded now)

160gr glass reinforcment
170gr kevlar reinforcment
160gr glass
204 gr carbon
204 gr carbon
6mm (tapered to 4) corecell A550
160gr glass
6mm (preshaped) corecell A550
160gr glass
3mm corecell A550
204 gr carbon
160 gr glass

and I use fat pads (bump & jump)

time will tell if it is possible to break this monster :wallbash:

I think if you use directional glass fabric you will have some advantages with crossing the finishing layup but I don't use directional glass fabric.
