Postby KGN>> » Sun Jul 25, 2004 11:54 pm

For a new boardbuilder, whats the easiest materials and techniques to use to build a kiteboard(besides plywood)Could you explain the steps, and materials needed?I want a board that is durable, and looks decent as well, but simple, nothing complicated.Like a 120 x 38.dont want it breaking, like I see alot of home built boards. :bye:
thanks

all the basics are here

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boardbuilding/

column A
plywood, cedar, pawlonia, balsa, divinicell, airex, nomex

column B
e-glass, s-glass, carbon, formica

column C
epoxy, polyester

pick one from column A
one from column B
one from column C

easy is a good place to start, but you still need to choose
cost
time (number of intermediate steps)
weight

in general, none of the steps are difficult, but there are some specialized
tools that you should consider like:
vacuum baging equipement and a rocker table
they are not manditory, but you still need to choose.

the rest is a hand saw, drill and lots of sand-paper.
