Help me design a mutant for surf?

Postby gobigkahuna » Fri Oct 21, 2005 4:36 pm

Hi all,

I've been building my own boards for a while now (divini core and glass) and am thinking about my next board. My all time favorite board is 152cm x 43cm which is just about a perfect all-a-round board for my 250 lb body. Only problem with this board is that it tends to "skip" down the faces of waves (now that I'm riding waves). The rest of the gang here has gone to surfboard style directionals, but I don't want to have to switch stance. So it looks like a mutant is the call. I sort of like the Stretch "Hermaphrodite", but it looks a bit too square on the "non-surf" end of the board. I'd also like to keep the dimensions about 152x43 since that works so well for me. So I'm looking for ideas for the board's outline, rocker and fin placement... any thoughts?
