My new Composite Woody

My new board.
Just a basic formed compisite woody, 3 stage rocker, concave, basic freeride dimensions 138x38cms. Materials two pieces of AC ply with a fiberglass sandwich in between (5 2 inch fiberglass stringers for longitudinal support and 4 2 inch stringers for horizontal support).
Construction technique. Table jig with rocker and concave, epoxy the ply then screw the sandwich to the table to cure.
What always kills me is the constuction time is 1hr but the finishing time always takes 3 hrs.

What's the weight?
How does it ride? Any flex?
Looks like your straps are straight in line. I like a ducked stance - have you tried that?
Not much rocker or flip to tips - does that bother you in the chop?
You put a layer of glass in between the wood layers? From a structural perspective I would think it best to put that on the bottom of the board.

Ed the board survived a whole season, it rips upwind, partly due to to just a liittle rocker and concave. This board was my favorite board for wave riding due to the length. I had no problem with perling, I just keep my weight on my back foot plus I move my heels about, thats why my straps are straight, when riding waves both heels point to the back. As to putting the glass in the middle I like a board that has some flex makes for a more comfortable ride. The board itself wts 7 lb complete 10 lb, Just a little heaver than most production boards.

Did you put fiberglass on the top and bottom as well as in the middle?

Can I suggest something?
I donÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â´t think glassing in the center of the board is worth any good.
The center has a neutral line that isnÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â´t put into tension.
Try to glass only on the surface of the board, there will be the hardest traction or compressive tension. Bear in mind that glass or carbon fiber only resist to traction, like a cable. ItÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â´s the resin that resists to compression.
Of course, vertical stringers will amount "moment of inercia" and resist more to flex, that is often used in surf boards.
In short...that same board only in ply will resist basically the same to flex.
