could i make a board out of just some very thin balsa and a thin sheet of plastic on top and bottom and epoxy them together. that seems like thats how my hana crew board is made. what would i use for rails i have almost no experience building boards. post pics if you have made one like this.

Heck, just use marine plywood and epoxy, plus a coat of paint - it ain't fancy, but that just makes it easier to build.

Epoxy dosen't stick to most plastics. Just a heads up. If you have access to Balsa core, it is much lighter then plywood.

You have just described the construction method of many top boards !

But,you must be more specific.

Plastic is not just "plastic"

Your materials must be compatable.
