I´ll make me a new board. It shall be 135 X 42 with 4 mm edges.
I´ve mint to make it followed (from the top):

2 layer (220 g) Carbon
under the foodstrabs 1 layer glass- fibre
15 mm Corocell
2 layer (220 g) glass- Fibre
1 Formica/ Resopal/ HPL

Do you thing it´ll wirk good?

Keep in mind that during most riding the deck is in compression and the base is in tension. I don't think carbon outperforms fiberglass to anywhere near the same extent in compression as it does in tension. This means that the board should be stiffer if the carbon goes on the bottom of the board rather than the deck.

I've used three layers of 200g cloth (3 x glass on deck, 2 x glass on base with 1 carbon inbetween) on each side with a 10mm shaped klegecell core. None of these have broken yet but I think they will snap on a hard landing.

I think your layup will work (almost anything does!) but I'd consider moving one layer of glass from the base onto the deck. Partly to give it more compressive strength and partly to help protect the carbon that you've put up there. With a 15mm core I'm guessing it will come out quite stiff.


Note: I've never used formica so I don't know how much strength/stiffness it adds.

Formica is heavy and will splinter on the edges .Why so much glass? Just use carbon in the right lay up and you will get a light board with flex.

flip your carbon onto the bottom and put the glass on the top.

formica is fine as long as you don't hit stuff with it, it's just there to protect the carbon, not to add anything to the board.

and will fall apart a eventually

just use glass....carbon although a nice looker doesnt have a place in kiteboards for me ,wrong application. ive tried loadsa materials and have yet to find one as good as glass. theres so many weaves/weights of glass availiable that the combos are endless and you can tailor it to how you want the board to perform.if you want a nice looking finish try texalium or other as it s only glass but its coated with aluminium so it has a great look.theres other availiable and you just gotta do some experimenting as if you make one board i guarantee youll make another it just the way it gos ...lol
