Where can I get some footpads and straps made ? Whenever I go to get some any where .They are always out of stock till October etc ,and im getting tired of it .

Make them, Foam kneeling pads/many colors work good, cut V shape grooves 10 to 15mm apart on the board side of the pad gives a soft pad, shape how you like.
Mite cost you 2$ for the pads.
Straps you have to buy, must of the companys sell them.

Baysurfer i've admired the pads on the photos of your boards. What tools/techniques do you use to get such a clean outline and edge? I've been using old camping pads cut with a knife or scissors. My edges are not very smooth and also they are bit slippery compared to production pads. Is the kneeling pad foam less slippery when wet? Also what glue have you had success with? Contact adhesive kept failing after a few sessions, now i'm using construction adhesive.

A razorblade for cutting groves, a utility knife or tinsnips for cutting them out. I like to move my foot around so I like big heel pads, so for me my straps are wide and tight, and I use heel straps, so if is not as grippy I cant tell.
Most kiters don't move thier feet, thats why their stances are So wide, so they can stick the tail in by standing on the back foot, for these people a good contored pad will hold thier foot in, A pad like that is a little hard to make but can be done. Carefull cutting and gluing.

Kneeling pads - is there another name for this in Uk english - do you mean what floor layers strap to their knees?

Went to an outdoor store and played around with the camping mats but they all seemed to rip quite easily and didn't seem very "grippy" let alone when wet...

Neoprene I guess wouldn't spread your weight over the board much, putting too much pressure in too small an area right?

Construction adhesive as Paul says - is that the way to go?

This is a great forum and there's lots of great info but details like these are missing but must be important right? Shame to make a nice board then slip off it all the time while other people might have some insights.

NSI will cut out thier dual density pads to any shape you want. And they cost less than most pads, a bit thin tho.

The Adjustable straps they sell, the ones with the ratchets are nice. I have the Older Adam Kock models with an internal strap that adjusts and they are great. The new ones look even better.
