Hi guys,

I had to repaint my Scrub Quasar because it was getting really scratched.
I have removed the original painting and I found I like the wood like aspect it has now.
Here is the question: which is the best way to paint it in trasparent mode: epoxy resin or transparent painting or what else?

I would like to be sure that wood is proctected against humidity and that the painting will not break because of the board flexibility.

Any idea, suggestion?

Here there is a pic of the work-in-progress: http://www.foillia.it/public/forum/inde ... t&id=10277

Thanks
andrea

Hello Andrea; My advice about your resurfacing job is to go with fast drying, two part epoxy resin. If applied correctly it should leave a thick, flexible, clear and glossy skin on your board that will proctect it well. Ask around your local surfboard shops where you can pick some up. There are different types of epoxy; get the fast drying type used for surfboards; apply it correctly and you will be set. You can apply multiple coats by lightly sanding in between coats. Take care and ride safe!! Chow
