Shame we didnt know earlier ,we have just thrown a load in the skip .We dont use it anymore its to heavy.

My bare boards with a Durasurf bottom weigh in at about 1.6 kg and 3kg fully loaded, that is lighter than the equivelent productions boards which come in at about 3.1 - 3.2 kgs.

Hi XSwind ,you have answered your own question .Get one down to 2.2 kilos all up . Thats for a 130 x 38 We were using the durasurf but decided to scrap it as there are better materials on the market. Pays ya money takes ya choice .Same as foam cores ,we dont use foam on any of our products anymore .

2.2kg is pretty darn inpressive (full stop)

but to be honest 3kg for a 132x40 and M1 straps is ok and without one hell of a lot of expense researching and testing to get it that light and strong.
I would love to have that sort of time, "dream"

I had wondered about other materials but sometimes as a home builder it is easyier to stick with what you know.

My boards weight comes in at just under that of most commercial boards, pretty good for a home builder I think.

We are testing at the moment a new material .If it works I will send you a piece to have a look at .Its light and we are finding out if you can print on the back of it .It comes already preped to glue one side and hi gloss on the other . Respect to home builders .

I had researched and located a supplier for the type of surface foils used on snowboards and in the right widths for kiteboards too, but the sample price was a little too high for me at that time and the minimum order is a killer for a home builder.

Samples should not cost you .If they do ,dont deal . Minimum order sucks big time in my view . Helps no one .Good companies usually allow for samples .In the UK its usualy sub companies that charge and should not .Will send a piece as soon as we have finish testing . I think our christmas has come early with this material:thumb:
