Ok After months of trawling through various forums and websites I think I'm slowly (but still uncertain) understanding what goes into making a board - I may be completely wrong. However finding all the little details is pretty tough hence this post.

Anyhow I've put together my ideas and i'd be grateful for your comments. Its a lightish wind board with hopefully a little bit of speed too.

I also hope to post a similar thing on the whole process, including my rocker table, construction sequence etc.

Very grateful of any constructive comments

Noo - looks like you've done more planning than plenty of other builders! My comments on your design are the following:

I think you could increase your concave a few mm. 4mm over a 43cm wide board seems pretty low.

Your outline is a little segmented. I think I'd round the smaller corners part way along the rails. This should give you more consistent carving on the rail.

Your inserts look similar to the ones I use. Be sure to put plenty of glass over these as they take a fair pulling load when dragging the the board through the water with your feet still in the straps.

They are pretty minor comments though. The good thing about kiteboard design is that almost anything works! Let us know how you get on through construction.

thanks Munteruk. yes I want to get as much planning done as possible now. I can't afford / I want to give myself the best chance of getting the first one right.

Comments gratefully received - I'll look at the concave and the overall outline. The enclosed drawing was done without any scale etc.

As I build up the specifics I'll add these to this post.

Difficult part next though as I've been trying to fathom out the finer detials of vacuum bagging etc. Part 2 to follow soon I hope.

thanks again.
