hello!

after my exams im going to start shaping, everything is already made, rocker table, etc etc, the only difficulty is to get the board vacuum...does anybody know any cheap solutions, because a vacuum pump costst round 6000 $ , http://offdal.stores.yahoo.net/01-bvbpump.html anyone experience with this one?? i live in belgium...

find an old refrigerator and use the vaccumpump from it.

yeah ok, the fridge device is only the engine, you will need a barrel, etc etc and i don't think i have enough experience to make it , altough there is a good manual on the internet, but id prefer plug n play pumps any other ideas?

for $6000 I would learn to be crafty and use a $20 old fridge pump. Its not that hard... if you can shape and laminate a board im sure you can figure out how to make a fridge pump work. But eh... if u have 6k to blow on a pump.. whatever floats your boat.

Ebay under vacuum pumps .

Go and convert a fridge pump and make a homemade vac switch.
In 6 years I have never used a vac tank and all my boards come out great.

you don't need a $6000 pump for building boards!

i bought a new Thomas diaphragm pump for around NZ$500 [or around 250Euro].
it pulls plenty enough for smaller composite projects.

a rotary vane pump should do as well.

4T is right. I use a small german diaphram lab pump. Works fine. Cost about 300€ i Sweden (expensive country).
