yeah ok, the fridge device is only the engine, you will need a barrel, etc etc and i don't think i have enough experience to make it , altough there is a good manual on the internet, but id prefer plug n play pumps ;) any other ideas?

for $6000 I would learn to be crafty and use a $20 old fridge pump. Its not that hard... if you can shape and laminate a board im sure you can figure out how to make a fridge pump work. But eh... if u have 6k to blow on a pump.. whatever floats your boat.

Go and convert a fridge pump and make a homemade vac switch.
In 6 years I have never used a vac tank and all my boards come out great.

Here is a pic of my pump vac switch.

you don't need a $6000 pump for building boards!

i bought a new Thomas diaphragm pump for around NZ$500 [or around 250Euro].
it pulls plenty enough for smaller composite projects.

a rotary vane pump should do as well. ... rue#browse

if you want to go even cheaper check this out. it's a instruction how to exactly build a vac pump from an old fridge motor

good luck

4T is right. I use a small german diaphram lab pump. Works fine. Cost about 300€ i Sweden (expensive country).
