I was just curious if anyone has successfully home built a foil board and if so, what is the best way?

Mahalo,
well, here we have another Home build hydrofoil

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x40u8d ... ding_sport" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

From my point of this, origin of the hydrofoil is somehow Italy!
If any body can find out who is the author or team behind, let us know!
Interested is why the Twin "T" hydrofoil board not work like it must??

Mahalo Andy,
good to see you here too, drop me e-mail on PM! How is life,
you are still "under kite pressure" I see, magnificent!
Of course if you find info of the h-foil builders aroud Como,
they are welcome. I was able to test the Carafino two weeks
ago in Hurgada, just to says perfect.

Yep , the fin is a centerboard from an old Mistral windsurfer.
I did get out in very light winds today ( 8 to 12 MPH) and it does work although I think I have a bit too much
angle in the rear foil, it took quite a bit of front foot pressure to keep it from popping out of the water. I did get a few 100
meter runs up on the foil but, trying to learn to ride a foil in ultra light winds and with waves isnt recomended , with every
wave the foil rises and then "pops" out the back of the wave making life difficult , anyway, I decreased the angle of the rear foil and will try again in flat water although I have to wait for a high tide because all flat water here is only a couple feet deep.
I think once its "tuned" and I get some time on it the effort will have been worthwhile, actually, I pretty stoked it works at all.

Nice work Denise!

I know another place with light winds and deeper water for your testing... :)

Hope Texas is treating you well! Can't wait to see some pics of this thing in the water.

Hey Will !!
Long time eh? SPI is great , plenty of wind, water and often decent waves , I still cant get over 82 degree water
with 88 degree air temp.
Anyway, I'll get some pics of the board up on the foil when the tides and wind cooperate.
