Looks fantastic!
Did you put cloth on the outer white part around the rails?
It looks cut away, and hard to put the cloth on,even with a vacuum bag.
What cloth did you use? Looks like 9oz Sglass on deck? Or something lighter?

How does it ride? Did you copy a real one exactly, or is yours a bit different?

The rail is "milled" down to 4mm thick from the 8mm overall thickness. I then painted the thinner part of the rail the same color as the bottom.

The glass just meets at the rail- i know it wont last long- but the wood is totally impregnated with epoxy. 3 layers of 6oz glass on each side.

Cheated on finish level this time- its so experimental with wood and lay-up. Just want to get it out and test flex. May need to make another one. And want to start race board over holidays.

Not a copy exactly- rocker is constant about 30mm as measured at center line. But concave and outline create more "virtual" rocker. And concave is about 22mm. Outline is more rounded. Flex is different- i´m cant control the flex characteristics. It has a constant flex.

Was planning on test ride this week-end. Had balmy 5c. But hurt my wrist skateboarding (wife says old bastards should not skate). Perhaps a winter solstice session next week-end.

It weighs 3.6kg fully outfitted.

What material is the mold form made out of? It would need to have rocker and bottom contour and it would also need to be non porous or else you would pull air bubbles through it while vacuum baging. Is it sheet metal?

The form is made out of 4mm masonite/MDF. I screwed it down to the workbench with spacers, starting in the middle and working outwards. I went slow- otherwise it will crack. The spacers are 3 longitudinal ribs- 1x1 inch and those are blocked up in turn for concave and rocker.

I then put a layer of glass and epoxy onto it, cause it would not hold a vacuum.

Its amazing how much shape you can get into masonite and plywood- made some tortured plywood kayaks years ago.

Sheet metal would probably not work- not enough pliability.
