So, here's my idea, I want to use a flame-troch (happens to be a hydrogen-flame, but that's not important, gas-flame would also be an possibility) to burn my design onto the woodcore., after that, laminate it with clear-epoxy+fiberglas. Finish it with a transparent 2component yaughtpaint. (DD-finish)
Anyone have ideas wether this will work (or not) and if it will look ok?

prolly don't have to finish it with the yacht paint tho - the epoxy should be enough. but you can, might only add weight and shineyness tho...up to you

guess it depends what epoxy you use, i'm not really into the epoxy tech, but most are pretty UV stable. personally i think coating it extra would just add weight. you prolly won't notice the UV protection benefits anyways unless you leave you're board in full sun 24/7 for like a year.

The west system clear catalyst is uv stable and clear.

I still have 1,5kg of clear epoxy. Don't know the brand, I bought at a store not to far from where I live (Live in the Netherlands), they buy bulk, and repackage it in smaller containers.

west 207 has uv resistance.
west 205 and many others do not.
Generally epoxies get their UV stability by having UV filtering additives added, though it is also related to hardener type....
You could ask the shop, but the "safe" thing would be to use the clearcoat paint -the weight difference would only be a few grams!
It is also much easier to get a "perfect" finish with paint!

Epoxy resins have a limited shelf life, if you have it for over a year sitting on a shelf I would sugest getting rid of that batch an work with fresh materials.
