A friend wanted me to try to build him a race board. My previous experience in board building has been with surfboard until about a month ago with I did a plywood twin tip. Looking at the North race boards, I like the outline and used as a basis for my design. The idea was to keep cost down and make a board more for upwind performance and fun rather than racing.
Board is a little on the heavy side but I don't think that is such a bad thing.
It's a foam core with 1/8 plywood skins, solid wood rails and hand shaped wood birch fins.
6oz fiberglass with RR epoxy over wood.
