Sand paper is the last thing you want to touch aramid with.
I cut off with a hot cutter blade and put a few drops of resin to seal.
Always cover them fancy fibers with a last layer of glass. That'll save you a nightmare or two.

I have experianced the joy of sanding kevlar into tufts. I was wondering if the heat cut kevlar creates any bumps? Simple solution is as you said put the kevlar under a layer of glass so you can sand that down. Kevlar is the dupont trademark for a it's aramid fabric.

Thats new to me.
All kevlar I have delt with is yellow in color and does not react the same as Aramid to the hot cutting process.
All aramid I have worked with is white like fiberglass.
I was under the impression that aramid was a sort of coktail of kevlar and other synthetics.

Yes Kevlar is the yellow stuff. An aramid fiber is a usually carbon kevlar weave. Black and yellow.
You can get Kevlar now in Blue,Red,Orange.
